RASC News Agency: The recent expulsion of over 400,000 Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan has sparked concerns and uncertainty about their situation in Afghanistan, as stated by the United Nations World Food Program (WFP). On December 6th, the WFP conveyed on a social network that immediate actions are required to address the challenges confronted by these deported migrants. The organization underscored that these individuals find themselves with nowhere to go and are uncertain about how to endure the upcoming winter season.
Previously, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) had implored Pakistan to cease the deportation of undocumented immigrants and asylum seekers from Afghanistan, especially during the winter season. However, Pakistan has persisted in the forced deportation of Afghanistani refugees over the past month, asserting its determination in this matter. Reports indicate that more than 402,000 Afghanistani immigrants have been forcibly repatriated to their home country from Pakistan.
The forced deportation of Afghanistani refugees has resulted in a dire living situation for a substantial number of these individuals in Afghanistan, leading to a humanitarian crisis. It is crucial to note that Pakistan has been a primary destination for Afghanistani citizens seeking refuge, particularly after the Taliban’s rise to power in Afghanistan. The current circumstances underscore the urgent need for international assistance and support to address the plight of these vulnerable refugees in Afghanistan. The challenges faced by Afghanistani refugees have been further intensified due to the continuous expulsion of citizens by Iran and Turkey.
