RASC News Agency: Ali Wali Poor Godarzai, the Chief of Tehran Police, has shared details with the media concerning the demise of a 13-year-old Afghanistani girl in Iran. According to a report by the Fars news agency, the head of Tehran’s intelligence police addressed reporters on November 30th, unveiling that the young girl lost her life due to severe physical abuse inflicted by her parents in response to her refusal to consume food.
The Chief of Tehran Intelligence Police further revealed that the suspicious circumstances surrounding the girl’s death were brought to the attention of the 10th Intelligence Police Department by Tehran’s forensic medicine on the morning of November 28th. Subsequent to this report, an initial investigation was initiated, uncovering visible bruises on the 13-year-old Afghanistani girl’s body, indicating potential suffocation.
According to the Iranian official, the girl’s father has been taken into custody, and the investigation is presently underway. The father, in his confession, acknowledged that his daughter’s rejection of food had caused distress for both him and his wife. He admitted that, on the day of the incident, their emotions escalated, leading to physical harm and subsequently, her sudden illness and loss of consciousness.
In an effort to deflect suspicion, the father asserted that her death was a natural occurrence, claiming they rushed her to a hospital in the southern part of Tehran. Iranian authorities are diligently conducting further inquiries to unveil any concealed aspects related to this event. It is noteworthy that Iran has witnessed a notable surge in the influx of Afghanistani immigrants, particularly following the Taliban’s assumption of power in Afghanistan.
