RASC News Agency: UNICEF has recently unveiled plans for the construction of a recreational center at the Torkham border crossing, specifically designed for children expelled from Pakistan. As per details released by UNICEF on Tuesday, November 28, on its official social media page, this 24/7 recreational center is geared towards offering both psychological and recreational services to children until they are successfully reunited with their families. UNICEF underscores that the center is dedicated to addressing the mental and recreational needs of children, ensuring their well-being until they are reconnected with their families.
Earlier revelations from UNICEF indicate that approximately 60% of the individuals expelled from Pakistan are children, prompting genuine concerns about their future. It is noteworthy that, subsequent to Pakistan’s mandatory expulsion of Afghanistani refugees, a considerable number return daily to Afghanistan. International organizations are expressing particular apprehension regarding the welfare of women and children among the expelled migrants, actively engaging in efforts to provide essential assistance.
In the aftermath of the Taliban assuming control in Afghanistan, a substantial number of youths, former military personnel, and women’s rights activists have fled the country, seeking refuge in neighboring nations.
According to experts, factors such as poverty, unemployment, the prevailing conditions in the country, restrictions imposed by the Taliban on youths and women, along with the fear instilled by the Taliban, have compelled Afghanistani citizens to abandon their homeland.
