RASC News Agency: In accordance with local sources in Jowzjan province, an intra-Taliban skirmish in the region has culminated in the fatalities and injuries of five members within this faction. As outlined in reports, this intra-group clash transpired on Monday, December 18th, in the proximity of Sheberghan city, the provincial capital of Jowzjan. Subsequently, three Taliban members met their demise, and two others sustained injuries. Nevertheless, the Taliban group has refuted the occurrence of this skirmish.

Drawing from the statement by Abdul Sattar Halimi, the spokesperson for the command of the Taliban in Jowzjan province, this “clash” unfolded between the forces of the 209th Shaheen Corps of the group and “armed individuals” in the orchard area of Sheberghan city, situated in the central part of Jowzjan province. The Taliban authority in Jowzjan province supplemented that this clash resulted in the demise of three individuals whose identities are yet to be ascertained, while another managed to elude the scene.

This incident transpires amidst antecedent intra-group clashes among Taliban members in various provinces across the nation, leading to casualties within this faction. Notwithstanding, local Taliban authorities in diverse provinces have consistently sought to attribute intra-group clashes among their members to external factions, vehemently denying such occurrences.

It is noteworthy that antecedent reports indicated internal discord among Taliban members, sporadically culminating in intra-group skirmishes, thereby underscoring the intricate dynamics within the group. Despite the Taliban’s persistent assertions of ensuring nationwide security, instances arise wherein their members acknowledge the presence of armed individuals.
