RASC News Agency: The Central Bank of the Taliban group has recently announced that a delegation led by Hedayatullah Badri, the head of this group, has traveled to Bahrain to participate in the annual session of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and the Islamic Development Bank conference. As per a press release from the Central Bank of the Taliban group on Tuesday, November 28, this meeting aims to foster collaboration on the latest advancements in Islamic banking among member countries, promote the development of Islamic banking, strengthen relationships between central banks, and leverage the experiences of Islamic countries in this field.

In the press release, the Central Bank of the Taliban group stated that representatives from central banks, Islamic financial institutions, and members of Sharia boards of Islamic banks from member countries are attending this session. It is noteworthy that news of the head of the Central Bank of the Taliban group traveling to Bahrain comes at a time when, following the Taliban’s control of the country, the banking system in Afghanistan has suffered damage and faced disruptions under their rule.

Moreover, it’s worth mentioning that the visit of the head of the Central Bank of the Taliban group to Bahrain is happening amid concerns, as some members of the Taliban group are listed in the United Nations sanctions, and they are prohibited from traveling to various countries. It is worth noting that a recent trip by a Taliban group official to Germany faced widespread criticism. It is essential to emphasize that the Taliban group has taken control of Afghanistan without having qualified members with expertise in key positions, leading to challenges in effectively managing affairs.
