RASC News Agency: In the ongoing efforts of international aid organizations to support Afghanistan, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has recently made an important contribution. UNICEF has provided medical equipment to 47 health centers in Zabul province.
Nik Mohammad Abbas, the head of the Relief Humanitarian Development Organization (RHDO), has overseen the implementation of this program. Abbas announced that the aid, valued at 117,000 US dollars, would be allocated to these health centers. The assistance from UNICEF is expected to greatly benefit the health centers in the central area of Zabul province, as well as its districts.

The provision of aid by UNICEF in Afghanistan is a significant step towards addressing the challenges faced by the health sector in the country. The recent developments in Afghanistan have caused widespread damage and a lack of facilities in various sectors, including healthcare. The European Union has also played a role in supporting the health sector by providing aid and medical equipment.
However, it is important to note that the Taliban’s control over the country has presented additional challenges, as they have imposed restrictions on various sectors, including healthcare and women’s work in institutions.

Mirwais Afghan, the head of public health for the Taliban group in Zabul province, acknowledged the aid provided by UNICEF and expressed hope that it would help alleviate the challenges faced by the health sector in the province. The aid from UNICEF includes essential items that are crucial for the functioning of the health centers.
It is anticipated that this assistance will contribute to the resolution of the health sector’s challenges in Zabul province. The international community’s support, exemplified by organizations like UNICEF, is vital in ensuring the well-being and development of Afghanistan’s healthcare system.
