RASC News Agency: Reports emanating from Kabul indicate that a devastating explosion rocked the Mellat Boxing Club on Thursday, October 26, situated in the Pul-e-Kushk area in the western part of the city. Sources reveal that the Taliban has cordoned off the affected vicinity, strictly prohibiting access to the public. The exact number of fatalities and injuries remains uncertain, though preliminary reports suggest that approximately six individuals have lost their lives, while another 30 people have sustained severe injuries and have been rushed to hospitals. The toll of casualties continues to rise rapidly.
In addition, the Amiri Medical Complex took to their official Facebook page to announce that they have received victims directly from the site of the explosion. As per the statement released by the medical facility, one person, identified as Zulfiqar, a 14-year-old, succumbed to his injuries, and three others have been admitted for further treatment. Meanwhile, some victims have been transferred to the Mohammad Ali Jinnah Hospital, where they are receiving urgent medical attention.
Khalid Zadran, spokesperson for the Taliban group’s security command, has affirmed that only two individuals have perished in the incident, with nine others sustaining injuries. However, video footage obtained from the scene vividly depicts ambulances frantically transporting victims and the wounded to hospitals, a clear indication that the tally of deceased and injured in this catastrophic explosion is set to escalate. It is worth noting that the western part of Kabul has been plagued by frequent and lethal explosions in various locations, predominantly orchestrated by the ISIS Khorasan group.
It is imperative to underscore that the Taliban group consistently avows its commitment to upholding security nationwide. Nevertheless, the harsh reality persistently presents a different narrative, as citizens continue to bear the brunt of distressing incidents, including the recurring onslaught of explosions, unexplained killings, abductions, and a manifold of other tragic occurrences.
