RASC News Agency: Local Taliban authorities in Nangarhar Province have announced that, following negotiations with Pakistani officials, the Torkham crossing has been reopened for cancer patients without requiring visas. Qureshi Badlun, the head of information and culture for the Taliban in Nangarhar Province, stated on Thursday, Mar 14, that cancer patients holding six-month cards are permitted to travel to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for treatment without the need for visas.

Four days ago, Pakistan declared the closure of the Torkham crossing for patients lacking passports and visas. Due to the scarcity of advanced medical facilities in Afghanistan, some citizens resort to traveling to Pakistan for treatment. Previously, patients without passports and visas were allowed to journey to Pakistan; however, under the new regulations, Afghanistani citizens, including patients, are required to obtain passports and visas for entry into Pakistan.

This regulation is implemented as obtaining passports and visas in Afghanistan under Taliban rule has become exceedingly arduous and time-consuming, often taking up to a year.
