RASC News Agency: Following the influx of Afghanistani refugees returning to their homeland from Pakistan, whether forcibly or voluntarily, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has recently unveiled plans to construct a temporary camp in Nangarhar province, as reported by Sputnik, a news agency. This move is intended to provide much-needed support and assistance to the returnees.
According to the official statement released by the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, the construction of the temporary camp has already commenced in the Lal-Kak district of Nangarhar province. The primary objective is to create a conducive environment for the returning Afghanistani families, who have faced various challenges during their transition.
The ministry further indicates that the temporary camp will be able to accommodate approximately 500 families. In addition to offering shelter, it will also provide essential provisions such as food, non-food items, and medicine to address their immediate needs. This comprehensive support reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring a smooth reintegration process for these individuals and families.
In parallel, the Pakistani government has set a deadline for illegal Afghanistani refugees to leave the country by the first of November this year. This has further intensified the urgency for the Afghanistani returnees to find proper arrangements within their home country. The complex socio-political dynamics, coupled with the recent shift in power after the Taliban’s takeover, have prompted many individuals to leave Afghanistan out of fear, economic hardship, and lack of employment opportunities. Consequently, neighboring countries such as Pakistan have witnessed a significant influx of Afghanistani migrants seeking refuge.
