RASC News Agency: Following two years of deprivation of Afghanistani girls from education, the United Nations has announced that it will launch a global campaign to raise their voices.
On Tuesday, August 15, the United Nations said in a statement that this global campaign started on August 15 and will continue until September 18, the second year since the Afghanistani girls were deprived of education.
According to the announcement of the United Nations, this campaign is going to be launched with the cooperation of Samia Farooqi, the former captain of the Afghanistani girls’ robotics team, and with the artworks of a young Afghanistani female artist.
These works of art include heartbreaking and determined testimonies of Afghanistani girls whose lives fell apart due to the Taliban group preventing them from continuing their education.
Mrs. Farooqi said: “The courage of the girls in Afghanistan gives me the strength to raise my voice to strengthen their voice to the world.”
According to her, the deprivation of Afghanistani girls from education has led to an increase in mental problems and cases of suicide among them.
According to a recent report by United Nations experts, Afghanistani women and girls have the worst situation in the world.
At the same time, Gordon Brown, the United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education and the head of the ECW High Commission, has stated: “The international community must pay attention to the heartbreaking call of the hearts of Afghanistani girls and young women and re-mobilize with strength to condemn the violation of their rights.” “
This campaign is launched while the girls above the sixth grade have been deprived of education since the Taliban took control of the country.
This group also banned the education and work of women and girls in public and private offices during their two years of domination over Afghanistan.
