RASC News Agency: In response to the ongoing discussions surrounding the forced deportation of Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan, the American branch of Amnesty International recently stated that the forced expulsion of Afghanistani refugees, particularly women and girls, deprives them of access to security, education, and livelihood.
This issue was brought up by the international organization on Monday night, November 13th, raising concerns that Pakistani authorities are using Afghanistani refugees as a political tool and that the expulsion of Afghanistani who sought refuge in Pakistan after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan puts their lives at risk.
The organization remains deeply concerned about the lack of transparency in the legal process of detention and deportation of Afghanistani refugees by the Pakistani police, highlighting that incidents of harassment and abuse against Afghanistani refugees in Pakistan have been on the rise.
According to reports, the Pakistani government, in light of the intensified forced expulsion of Afghanistani refugees, has announced the establishment of 49 temporary centers for accommodating Afghanistani refugees. However, it should be noted that in at least seven detention centers, refugees are denied their rights, including access to legal representation. Meanwhile, after the deadline set by Pakistan for the deportation of Afghanistani refugees from the country expired, Pakistan has intensified the process of forced expulsion and previously announced the opening of three new transit points on the border with Afghanistan to expedite this process.
It is worth recalling that the UN spokesperson had previously emphasized that the forced expulsion of refugees, especially Afghanistani women and girls, from Pakistan exposes them to serious threats, as under Taliban rule in Afghanistan, they have been deprived of their fundamental rights.
