RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar has officially announced a high-level meeting and fruitful discussion between the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, and Fereydon Sinirlioglu, the UN Special Coordinator for Afghanistan Affairs.
In an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar on Sunday, October 15, it was conveyed that the discussion centered on the essential collaboration between Qatar and the United Nations, along with the recent developments unfolding in Afghanistan.

According to the announcement, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar emphatically reiterated their country’s unwavering support for the Afghan people in their pursuit of progress and prosperity. They acknowledged the crucial role played by the United Nations in establishing security and stability within the country.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar highlighted that Mr. Sinirlioglu warmly welcomed Qatar’s significant efforts in supporting international initiatives aimed at achieving enduring peace in Afghanistan during their productive meeting. This comes despite the various challenges encountered by Afghanistan, including concerning issues such as the state of human rights, social and economic crises, which have arisen since the fall of the republican regime and the subsequent establishment of Taliban rule.

It is of utmost importance to emphasize that despite the Taliban group’s repeated claims of Afghanistan being on a development path and their management of the crisis, reports indicate otherwise. The current situation in Afghanistan, particularly with regard to human rights and women, has raised serious concerns among global authorities. They have expressed that the situation has not improved since the Taliban group assumed power two years ago.
