RASC News Agency: Local sources from the Ghazni province have confirmed a tragic traffic incident that occurred in the province center, resulting in the devastating loss of 46 lives and numerous injuries. The incident took place on Sunday, October 15, when a passenger bus of the “580” type veered off the road in the area known as “Kotal Roza” along the Kabul-Kandahar highway.

Reliable sources indicate that the primary causes for the bus deviation in the aforementioned area were the driver’s excessive speed and negligence. It is disheartening to note that among the injured individuals, there were women and children. They have been expeditiously transported to nearby health centers, where they will receive immediate medical attention and treatment.

Significantly, there has been a surge in the occurrence of traffic incidents across various provinces of the country in recent times. Yesterday, yet another tragic incident unfolded in the Abband district of Ghazni, where four individuals lost their lives, and several others sustained various injuries as a result of a traffic accident.

Moreover, every year, a substantial number of lives are lost and injuries incurred due to traffic incidents in different provinces of the country. Available data highlights that factors such as driver negligence, speeding, poor road conditions, and non-compliance with traffic regulations continue to stand as the primary catalysts behind these disturbing incidents.

Simultaneously, the prolonged periods of warfare and the consequential deterioration of the nation’s infrastructure, specifically its roads and highways, have emerged as significant contributing factors to the sporadic escalations in traffic incidents witnessed throughout various regions of the country.
