RASC News Agency: Local sources in Badakhshan Province report that Matisamullah Rashidi, a Taliban commander in Rag District, has executed a civilian and injured five others. On Wednesday, May 29th, sources informed the media that the previous day, residents of the “Dar-e-Sabayi” and “Rabat” villages clashed over grazing lands.

Following the altercation, local Taliban officials, including Abdullah Rashidi, the deputy governor, Matisamullah Rashidi, the block commander, and Abdul Manan Sarwari, the security commander, intervened to support the residents of Dar-e-Sabayi by opening fire on the villagers from Rabat. According to the sources, the deceased, named Kamil, was a resident of Rabat village.

The sources also indicated that the local Taliban authorities in Rag have warned the residents of Rabat to allow the villagers of Dar-e-Sabayi to use the grazing lands. So far, local Taliban officials in Badakhshan have not commented on the incident.

Previously, local Taliban authorities have been reported to engage in violent and biased actions against citizens. In one instance, individuals associated with a local Taliban commander attacked a gold mine in Rag District nearly two weeks ago, injuring at least seven miners.
