RASC News Agency: According to local sources in Herat province, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck the region once again, impacting various areas. Media outlets were informed on Wednesday, October 11, that the earthquake occurred at 5:10 in the morning, affecting specific parts of the province.
The United States Seismological Center confirmed that the epicenter of the quake was located 28 km from Herat city, with a depth of 10 km. Local sources also reported casualties resulting from the event. The real casualties from this incident is not clear yet.

According to reports from the Herat province hospital, one person tragically lost their life, while several others were injured as a consequence of the earthquake. It is important to note that a previous earthquake on Saturday, October 7, resulted in over two thousand fatalities and left thousands more injured in Herat province. The impact of the earthquake was also felt in the neighboring provinces of Farah, Badghis, Nimroz, Ghor, and in Iran.

Rescue operations are currently underway in various areas of Herat province to locate and save individuals trapped under debris. Regrettably, many people are still unable to find their missing family members. In response to this devastating event, numerous countries and humanitarian organizations from around the world have pledged to provide assistance to those affected.

However, there have been reports of a lack of systematic distribution of humanitarian aid and inadequate management by the Taliban group in response to this natural disaster, as shared by some victims. Amnesty International has previously called for fair and unbiased distribution of humanitarian aid to these victims.
