RASC News Agency:The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has made an announcement regarding the mobilization of three medical units, which are to be dispatched to the earthquake-ravaged district of Zindajan in Herat province.
As per a communication posted on the IOM Afghanistan office’s social media account on Sunday, October 8, four ambulances, accompanied by numerous doctors and health consultants, have been dispatched to the hospital situated in the affected region.
The IOM has underscored the dire requirement for humanitarian assistance and backing for the numerous families who have been rendered homeless due to the earthquake.
The IOM has dispatched emergency relief teams to Herat with the aim of providing aid to the victims of the earthquake that struck on Saturday, October 7, with a magnitude of 6.3. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Zindajan district, Herat province. Although the exact number of casualties has yet to be ascertained, reports suggest that more than two thousand individuals have lost their lives, and thousands more have been injured. Furthermore, the earthquake has resulted in the demolition of almost ten villages, with numerous families still trapped under the debris.
