In the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Taliban group was once again addressed as illegitimate, violator of human rights, ethnic monopolize of power and active collaborator of terrorist groups in the region and the world in Afghanistan. The heads of countries including Qatar, Iran, Tajikistan, Canada, Turkey and foreign ministers of 12 countries and the rest of the world condemned the brutal behavior and ethnic attitudes of this group and asked the world to hold the Taliban accountable for their crimes and human rights violations in Afghanistan.
The country of Qatar, which along with Pakistan is one of the main supporters of the Taliban group and the lobbyist of this group in international forums, warned this group to avoid repeating their past mistakes and adhere to the Doha agreement with the United States.
Sheikh Tamim bin Ahmad, the Emir of Qatar, said in the UN General Assembly that the Taliban group should adhere to the Doha Agreement with the United States and avoid repeating the mistakes of the past.
In the past two years, the Taliban group has committed massive human crimes, ethnic clashes, monopolization of power, displacement of Waziristan Pashtuns in the North, forced migration of non-Pashtun peoples and dozens of other crimes in Afghanistan, but Qatar did not specify which of their past mistakes they have committed against the people.
On the other hand, in this meeting, the Canadian Foreign Minister condemned the cruel behavior of the Taliban against the people of Afghanistan and said: “The attacks of the Afghanistani Taliban to remove Afghanistani women and girls from public life are devastating.” The United Nations asked the world to hold the Taliban accountable for their actions against Afghanistani women and girls, he said: “The rights of Afghanistani women cannot be negotiated with this group.”
Canada’s foreign minister described the silence of the UN member states in front of the Taliban group’s criminal approaches in Afghanistan as a betrayal of the goals of this organization and said: “If the United Nations and the international community cannot support Afghanistani girls and women against the Taliban group, “We will betray one of the pillar and principle on which the United Nations was founded.”
At the same time, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a speech referring to the crisis in Afghanistan in this meeting: “For half a century, the people of Afghanistan have been going through difficult times, the change of the government of the Taliban group into an all-inclusive administration where all sections of the society can live fairly.” It paves the way for a stable Afghanistan.”

While Iran emphasized the creation of a comprehensive government in Afghanistan based on respecting the rights of ethnic groups and religions in this meeting, not long ago, the Taliban called the followers of the Shiite religion as misguided and asked them to convert to Islam.

It is said that on behalf of Afghanistan, Nasir Ahmad Faiq, the head of Afghanistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, will speak at this meeting, but his speech has not been confirmed yet.
In the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly two years ago, the Taliban group sent a letter asking this organization to accept Suhail Shaheen as their representative in this meeting, but the request of this group was not accepted.
Political experts consider Afghanistan’s participation in the UN General Assembly meeting as important for the people of the country, but they say: “Afghanistan lacks a government that fulfills the criteria for participation in such meetings.”
Ahmad Saeedi, a former diplomat and a political expert, said: “The United Nations is a great global organization that is very valuable to participate in, but unfortunately we do not have a government in Afghanistan that has the place and the right to participate in the United Nations General Assembly.
Two years have passed since the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, but due to tribal discrimination, human rights violations, monopoly of political power, extensive relationship with terrorist networks, violation of the rights of Afghanistani women and girls, the continuation of massacres and arbitrary arrests, it has not been recognized and this group has separated Afghanistan from the body of the international community as a legitimate and legal government under its rule for two years.
