RASC: Local sources in Takhar province have announced the reconstruction of a girls’ school at a cost of 600,000 Kabuli/Afghani rupees with the help of local people in Chahab district of this province.

These sources said on Monday, June 5, that following the negligence of the education officials of this province in the reconstruction of the girls’ school in the village of Khalian, they have reconstructed this school in cooperation with the immigrant residents of this village in Iran.

Although the number of students in schools has decreased significantly compared to the past, before the Taliban regained power, about 16,000 students were studying in 50 schools, half of which were girls, in Chahab city. It should be mentioned that during the two decades of war between the Taliban and the military of the previous government, most of the school buildings in the country have been damaged.
