RASC News Agency: The executive director of the World Food Program has announced that if the funds needed to take care of the needy in Afghanistan are not provided, this organization will be forced to leave Afghanistan.

Cindy McCain, the executive director of the World Food Program, made these statements while talking to the American ABC news network and added that the World Food Program is facing the worst budget deficit in its 60-year history.

“We are in a desperate situation,” added Mrs. McCain.

He said that the Corona epidemic, climate change and war are among the reasons that have led to the reduction of the budget of the World Food Program.

The executive director of the World Food Program has stated that the organization has been forced to reduce its aid in countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Jordan, Palestine, South Sudan, Somalia and Syria due to budget cuts.

He emphasized that the World Food Program in Afghanistan “doesn’t have enough money to get through the month of October.”

Mrs. McCain added: “Until we manage to prepare a budget for Afghanistan, we should leave it completely.”

Emphasizing the urgency of creating a budget in Afghanistan, the director of this program has stated that women are not allowed to work at the moment and that the World Food Program helps women and children.

He said, the result of the withdrawal of the World Food Program from Afghanistan will be hunger and famine.

It should be mentioned that the World Food Program has distributed vital aid to these needy people after the Taliban took over, with the increase in the number of people in need of humanitarian assistance.

The World Food Program has announced that taking care of the needy in Afghanistan requires a budget of one billion dollars.
