RASC News Agency: According to reports from Pakistani media, a special operation executed by the country’s security forces at the Torkham crossing successfully thwarted the smuggling of military equipment and weapons from Afghanistan to Pakistan. State media outlet Radio Pakistan disclosed that Pakistani security forces intercepted a truck transporting advanced American weaponry being illicitly brought into Pakistan from Afghanistan. The confiscated equipment comprised American M-4 assault rifles, AKM47 rifles, various types of ammunition, night vision cameras, and American-manufactured laser lights. Additionally, the Afghanistani driver of the truck was apprehended by the authorities.

Pakistani media underscored that the primary objective behind smuggling this military equipment was to support and proliferate terrorist activities within Pakistan. The security forces of Pakistan were lauded for detecting and halting this illicit operation. Despite the Taliban group denying any involvement in selling leftover military equipment from American forces to Pakistan, numerous reports have surfaced since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, shedding light on the smuggling and sale of such equipment in the region.

It is crucial to highlight that the US Ministry of Defense has reported that approximately seven billion dollars’ worth of equipment has been left behind in Afghanistan. The collapse of the Afghanistan government has raised significant concerns among countries in the region regarding the abundance of military equipment remaining in the country. The discovery of some of this smuggled equipment in Kashmir and Palestine has further intensified regional concerns and emphasized the necessity for increased vigilance against such activities.
