RASC News Agency: Local sources from Daikundi province have reported the arrest and imprisonment of a former soldier by the Taliban group in Khadir district of this province.
According to a source of the Taliban group, this former soldier was summoned to the police command of Khadir district of this province on August 28, then arrested and imprisoned. The source mentioned this former soldier as Hussain.
The source added that the Taliban group arrested and imprisoned this former soldier on the charge of keeping weapons that he had as a soldier in the previous government and did not hand over to the Taliban group.
Based on the source’s statements, “Hussain” is the main resident of the center of Khadir district of Daikundi province, and he also worked in this city before the Taliban took over.
It should be noted that since the Taliban took control of the country, despite the announcement of a general amnesty by the leader of this group, they have arrested, tortured, imprisoned and in some cases killed dozens of soldiers and employees of the previous government.
Meanwhile, the Armed Conflict Locations and Events Data Project (ACLED) and the Afghanistan Peace Watch recently reviewed the violence and behavior of the Taliban group with soldiers and civilians in a report entitled Two Years of Suppression.
In this report, it is stated that four groups, government and security officials of the previous regime, prisoners, women and journalists have been subjected to repression, punishment and violence.
In this report, it is claimed that out of 400 cases of targeting and targeted violence against the officials and soldiers of the former regime, 290 cases were carried out by the Taliban group, which were confirmed by the relatives of these people and local sources.
