RASC News Agency: Local Taliban officials in Badakhshan province have reported a landslide in the Ragistan district, resulting in significant property damage. The Taliban’s Department of Information and Culture in Badakhshan announced that 15 residential homes were destroyed by the landslide in Raghistan.
Hekmatullah Mohammadi, Director of Information at the Taliban’s Department of Information and Culture in Badakhshan, informed the media on Wednesday, May 22, that the incident occurred the previous day in the village of Khafij in Raghistan district. Meanwhile, Badakhshan National Television, under Taliban control, reported that an additional 26 homes are at risk of collapsing.
It is reported that recent floods across various provinces have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of local residents and caused substantial financial and human losses. The United Nations has announced that $14 million is needed to address the aftermath of the floods in Afghanistan.
In recent days, nearly a thousand people have died, thousands of homes and shops have been destroyed, and extensive farmland has been devastated in several Afghanistan provinces.
Previously, flood victims in Badakhshan told the media that despite donations being collected in the name of the province, not a single kabuli rupee has reached them.
