RASC News Agency: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says that after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, 1.6 million Afghanistani citizens have migrated to neighboring countries.

This institution has stated that in 2023, more than 66 million dollars of funds are needed to help Afghanistani refugees in Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

UNICEF has stated that most Afghanistani citizens have migrated to Iran and Pakistan.

Asifa Stanikzai, an immigrant rights activist, said: “People who immigrate from their country face economic problems and lack of identity documents. On the other hand, cultural and sometimes linguistic incompatibility has multiplied their problems.

Farid Rustaghi is one of the refugees from Afghanistan who immigrated to Pakistan after the Taliban regained control and is now living with many problems. He says: “Organizations supporting immigrants do not ask whether they are immigrants or not, people are facing many problems.”

UNICEF says that by June 2023, more than 8 million Afghanistani citizens will live in neighboring countries, and their living conditions are alarming.

Previously, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) described the situation of Afghanistani women as worrying and sad in its report titled “Gender Equality, Struggle for Girls’ Education in Afghanistan”.

UNICEF published this report on Wednesday (August 16), one day after the two-year anniversary of the Taliban rule over Afghanistan.

In this report, UNICEF expressed concern about the situation of women in Afghanistan and said that the psychological condition of girls and women in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group is worrying.
