RASC News Agency: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that more than 8.2 million Afghanistani citizens are currently refugees in neighboring countries.
According to the recently published UNICEF report, most of these immigrants live in Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
According to UNICEF, long crises in Afghanistan have caused the migration and asylum of the citizens of this country to other countries of the world.
According to UNICEF, 1.6 million people have immigrated after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan.
According to this report, as of June 30, 2023, more than 8.2 million Afghanistanis were living in Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan in various situations. Out of 2.1 million registered asylum seekers.
UNICEF added that in the first half of 2023, it has supported Afghanistani citizens and members of their host communities in five neighboring countries.
According to UNICEF, throughout these countries, 210,000 migrant children have been vaccinated against measles, 13,000 malnourished children have been treated, and 102,000 children have access to education.
UNICEF added that it had requested 66.2 million dollars to meet the needs of Afghanistani children, their families and host communities in 2023.
According to UNICEF, until June 30, 2023, a financial gap of 44.4 million Dollar has arisen due to the non-provision of the requested budget.
Meanwhile, with the recent changes and the fall of the republican system at the hands of the Taliban, a large number of Afghanistani citizens were forced to leave the country for various reasons.
It should be noted that many of them are currently facing challenges in neighboring countries.
