RASC News Agency: Hussain Amir Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in his meeting with Tariq Ali Bakhit, the special envoy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Afghanistan, called for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
“Taqreeb” news agency reported on Wednesday, August 16 that Abdullahian stated this issue yesterday and at the same time as the two-year anniversary of the Taliban group’s resumption of control over Afghanistan.
In his meeting with the special envoy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Afghanistan, this senior Iranian diplomat stated that the solution to the current problem in the country is only in the formation of an inclusive government with the participation of all ethnic groups and political currents.
He added: “Iran considers the formation of an all-inclusive government that all the ethnic groups and religions of the country will join as a means of leaving Afghanistan from the current situation.”
Amir Abdollahian has also called for the intensification of efforts to solve humanitarian crises in Afghanistan.
Iran’s foreign minister has emphasized that due to the long common border between his country and Afghanistan, he is working hard to solve the existing challenges.
Meanwhile, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran’s ambassador and special representative for Afghanistan, in a meeting with the special representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Afghanistan, emphasized the need for active support of Islamic countries in regional initiatives, especially in Afghanistan’s neighboring countries.
Referring to the complex situation of Afghanistan, he called for the formation of joint working groups between Iran and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the fields of humanitarianism and crisis management of Afghanistani refugees.
The Iranian ambassador also emphasized the “irreplaceable role of scholars and clerics of the Islamic world” in solving the Afghanistan crisis and demanded the active cooperation of Islamic countries with Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
He called the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking the focus of the agreement of the neighboring countries regarding Afghanistan and called for the comprehensive cooperation of the United Nations with the region.
