Yen Eggland, the secretary general of this council, wrote on the X/Twitter network that currently 15.2 million people in Afghanistan are facing acute food insecurity.
He further wrote: “Acute malnutrition in 25 out of 34 provinces of the country is above the emergency threshold and is expected to worsen.”Currently, severe underfunding has led to a massive reduction in the number of people targeted for food aid.”
