RASC: From sometimes until now, teachers and civil service employees of Kunduz province have been complaining about the process of distributing their salaries, which is implemented through Kabul Bank.
They say that after months, their salaries are paid, but the money that the tellers of Kabul Bank pay them, is extremely old and linked, and has completely stopped being used.
Some of these civil service employees say that they have been facing such a challenge for several months and no one hears their cries.
Mohammad Zaher, one of the civil service employee, says, “My salary is 8 thousand Kabuli/ Afghani, they pay about 4 thousand of them and they give me broken money. I go to every shopkeeper in the market to buy the necessary materials, but they don’t take it.”
He said that when I and a few others went to the manager of Kabul Bank to exchange the old money, he did not listen to us and said that we will take your salary money from the central (state) bank, they gave us the same money.
He also added, “We went to the state bank to complain and change the old and worn money, but the management of the Emirati Bank (Da Afghanistan Bank) strongly rejected the answer and said: Go and be thankful that we will give you the same.”
A number of school teachers are still complaining about paying their salaries with such useless and worn-out notes.
They say that the monthly salary of a teacher or employee is just his salary and that is it. How do we use these kind of linked notes?
These professors complain that the salaries of Taliban soldiers are distributed with new and newly printed notes, but this is how we are.
They say that this money should be burned by the government and replaced by new notes.
