RASC News Agency: Local sources from Samangan province report that a 13-year-old boy has taken his own life in the provincial capital. Sources informed the media on Friday, June 27, that the incident occurred the previous day in Aybak, the capital of Samangan province.

According to the sources, the boy, identified as Rahimullah, lived in the village of “Dalkhi” in central Samangan. The reasons behind Rahimullah’s decision to commit suicide remain unclear; however, sources indicate that his family is struggling with economic difficulties.

The Taliban’s provincial police command in Samangan confirmed the boy’s suicide and announced that an investigation into the matter has been initiated. Since the Taliban’s return to power, there has been a significant increase in suicide rates among young boys and girls.

The causes of these suicides are often attributed to hopelessness about the future, poverty, economic hardships, and psychological problems. During their nearly three years of rule, the Taliban have imposed increasing restrictions on the lives of citizens, particularly affecting young people and women.
