RASC News Agency: Following the publication of SIGAR’s recent report on the situation in Afghanistan, Michael McCall wanted to clarify the process of providing aid to Afghanistan under the administration of the Taliban group.

Michael McCall, the head of the foreign relations committee of the US Senate, made these statements in a statement on August 9, after the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) submitted its 60th report on the situation in Afghanistan to the US Congress. presented

McCall said in his statement that the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan has significantly worsened with the disastrous withdrawal of international forces and the chaotic retreat of Joe Biden.

He added: “It is an abhorrent trend that US taxpayers’ money has filled the pockets of terrorist groups like the Taliban, who persecute Afghanistani women and girls, finance Al-Qaeda and other terrorists.”

He added that the Taliban group has committed crimes against religious minorities and many other cases of human rights are violated by this group every day.

McCall added in a statement: “For months, I have been asking the Biden administration to explain how it is providing aid to the people of Afghanistan, while it has failed to keep US money out of the hands of the Taliban, but I have not received any response to this request.”

He said that according to the recent SIGAR report, the Biden government should prioritize transparency in the field of sending aid to the people of Afghanistan.

The head of the foreign relations committee of the US Senate has stated that USAID has not given them an answer despite the repeated requests of this parliament regarding its plans in Afghanistan.

It should be mentioned that the recent report of SIGAR about Afghanistan was presented to the US Senate on Tuesday, August 8, in which it announced more than 2.35 billion dollars in aid for this country since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.

According to this report, the Taliban group has used American aid to the people of Afghanistan.

It is also stated in this report that the involvement of the Taliban group in the work of relief organizations has stopped the activities of some of these organizations.
