RASC News Agency: Murtaza Solangi, Pakistan’s Minister of Information, recently expressed ongoing concerns about Afghanistan evolving into a sanctuary for terrorist organizations. During an interview with Pakistani media on Thursday, December 14th, he underscored that since the Taliban assumed control of Afghanistan, it has become a safe haven for groups such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda. Solangi not only highlighted the threat this poses to Pakistan’s security but also to neighboring countries and global security as a whole.
In his statement, Mr. Solangi clarified that Pakistani authorities are actively engaging with Taliban officials to address the terrorism issue. He expressed dissatisfaction with the Taliban’s current approach to this threat, deeming it unacceptable and something that cannot be allowed to persist. This indicates Pakistan’s commitment to finding a solution and ensuring that Afghanistan does not remain a breeding ground for terrorist activities.
Pakistani officials consistently raised concerns about the Taliban’s inaction against Pakistani militants. They argue that since the Taliban gained control in Afghanistan, there has been a significant increase in terrorist attacks against the Pakistani army. In response to a recent attack claiming the lives of 23 soldiers, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Taliban’s representative in Islamabad, demanding that the group take action against the perpetrators. This incident underscores the urgent need for the Taliban to address the terrorism issue and prevent Afghanistan from becoming a safe haven for terrorists—a concern shared not only by Pakistan but also by the international community.
