RASC News Agency: The organization that supports Afghanistan’s free media has announced the resumption of the activities of “Hamesha Bahar” radio and television, “Nan” radio and “Jowanan” radio news site in Nangarhar.

On Sunday, August 6, this institution confirmed by publishing a statement, that it has held a meeting with the local officials of this province in order to deal with the challenges of journalists in Jalalabad.

According to the Afghanistan Free Media Support Organization, the local officials emphasized in this meeting “they have heard the challenges of journalists and media and consider themselves committed to supporting freedom of expression and media.”

These statements are made while the Taliban stopped the broadcasts of Hamisha Bahar, Radio, Nan and Radio Jowanan in Nangarhar province last week.

In addition, the officials of Hamesha Bahar Radio and Television in Nangarhar had previously said that the officials of the Taliban group stopped their activities during a journalistic training course for 16 trainees, including six girls.

In response to the suspension of this media’s activity in Nangarhar, the organization of the Free Media of Afghanistan (NAI) had previously emphasized that the “unprincipled behavior” of the security forces against media workers is “pressure on freedom of expression”.

This is while the media and organizations that support the media have always complained about arresting, harassing journalists and stopping the activities of the media in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group.

It should be mentioned that the Taliban group has always used violent behavior towards journalists and the media since they took control of the country and suppressed them.
