RASC News Agency: The Turkish Embassy in Afghanistan recently announced that Cenk Ünal, the Turkish Ambassador in Kabul, met with Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the acting Defense Minister of the Taliban, to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments. According to a message published on Wednesday, November 15th, by the Turkish Embassy in Afghanistan on social media, this meeting took place yesterday in Kabul. The Turkish Embassy in Kabul referred to this meeting as a significant event and added that both parties discussed bilateral relations and regional progress during the meeting.

Although Ankara, like other countries in the world, has not officially recognized the Taliban, they still maintain a close relationship with the group. Reports suggest that recently the visits of Taliban officials to Turkey have increased.
It should be noted that despite over two years since the Taliban’s takeover of the country, no country in the world has recognized this group. Compliance with human rights, including the rights of women, girls, and minorities, the establishment of an inclusive government, and the adherence of the Taliban to international obligations are among the preconditions set by the international community to recognize this group.

However, despite repeated demands from the world and international authorities, the Taliban continue their repressive behavior towards Afghanistani citizens, especially women, girls, and non-Pashton ethnic groups. It is worth mentioning that recent reports indicate that the Taliban have been systematically excluding non-Pashton individuals from their political system and intend to appoint individuals of Pashton origin in all offices and positions.
