RASC: Abdul Rashid Dostum, the leader of the National Movement Party of Afghanistan, said that force should be used against the Taliban group and that the political support of the United States is needed.
During an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Mr. Dostum said: “If I get support and don’t teach the Taliban, my name is not Dostum.”
In this interview, which was published on Sunday, July 30, Dostem stated that he will fight against the Taliban group only with the political support of the United States without the need for “weapons and tanks”.
In the summer of 1400, with the fall of the important provinces of Afghanistan in the north of the country, Mr. Dostum made many military and political efforts to preserve the provinces that were considered his political and ethnic base, which remained fruitless.
He told Rolling Stone that at that time he was poisoned by his “enemies” and went to Turkey for treatment. Babur Dostum said about his father that his condition was very serious. There was nothing left for him to die.”
Like other politicians critical of Ashraf Ghani, Dostum believes that Ghani did not have the strength to mobilize the people against the Taliban on the eve of the massive attack by the Taliban.
In this interview, he tried to convince American politicians to abandon the policy of engagement and non-support of political forces against the Taliban group.
Dostum said: “There was someone at our head who could not mobilize the people’s groups against the Taliban group.”I am a military man and I am familiar with all parts of Afghanistan.”
Dostum emphasized the support of foreign countries to domestic political forces and likened the Afghanistan political scene to a bullfighting arena, where these countries should choose skilled horsemen for the political game.
Meanwhile, representatives of the US and the Taliban group are present in Doha, the capital of Qatar, to hold talks on Afghanistan.
