RASC: In response to Joe Biden’s statement about the suppression of Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan with the cooperation of the Taliban, the chairman of the foreign relations committee of the US Senate says that these statements by Biden are not true.
Michael McCall, the head of this committee, announced his reaction to these statements of Joe Biden in a statement on Thursday, July 6.
McCall has added that Biden’s words can only be an interpretation of white-washing the long-standing relations between the Taliban and al-Qaeda, and it is even possible that it is an attempt to push the United States in the direction of recognizing the Taliban as the government of Afghanistan.
The head of the foreign relations committee of the US Senate has stated that he will not hesitate to make any effort to oppose the issue of recognizing the Taliban group.
The statement reads: “President Biden’s claim that Al-Qaeda activity has stopped in Afghanistan, or that the Taliban group is a partner in our national security in the region, is completely far from reality.”
This member of the US House of Representatives says that according to the independent report of the United Nations, the Taliban group provides welfare facilities including money to al-Qaeda every month, and al-Qaeda publicly provides the group’s training instructions to the Ministry of Defense.
According to him, we regularly see reports from the United Nations and senior US generals regarding the growing capabilities of Al-Qaeda that the Taliban group not only controls Al-Qaeda, but also strengthens them through financial aid and security cooperation. .
This criticism was raised at the same time that not long ago, US President Joe Biden said in a press conference: “I said that we will get help from the Taliban group so that there is no Al-Qaeda, you see that I was right.”
These statements of Biden were welcomed by the Taliban group and after that, this group demanded a positive interaction with Washington.
At the same time, numerous reports have been published about the concerns of the countries of the region regarding the existence of terrorist groups and the cooperation of the Taliban group with them in Afghanistan under the administration of this group.
