RASC: According to sources in Laghman province, Zainul Abdin, the governor of the Taliban group for this province, has married an 18-year-old girl with the payment of 2,285,000 Kabuli/Afghani rupees and one piece of land.

Sources said on Sunday, July 2, that the wedding ceremony of this official of the Taliban group was held last Friday in the official building of Laghman province.

According to the sources, the girl whom the governor of the Taliban group married is a resident of Al-Jigrovi village in Alingar district.

This local official of the Taliban group has given the girl’s father 800,000 Kabuli/Afghani rupees and a piece of land in Sultan Ghazi Baba town as a gift.

It is said that the expenses of this wedding have reached more than two million Kabuli/Afghani rupees.

According to the information, Zainul Abdin bought gold for his young wife with one million Kabuli/Afghani rupees.

This is despite the fact that the leader of the Taliban last year asked the officials of this group to refrain from multiple wives.

The leader of the Taliban group said in his Eid message four days ago, that forced and underage marriages have disappeared in the country under their rule and called it an achievement.

Polygamy and second and third marriages are not uncommon among Taliban officials, previously, a similar case had happened in Logar province.

It should be mentioned that after the Taliban took control of the country, women and girls are the most affected groups in Afghanistan, who were banned from education, training, work and free excursions.

In the first period of their rule over the country, the Taliban group also committed various atrocities on Afghanistani women and girls.
