RASC: According to the family of Mohammad Tahir Sadid, an Afghanistani journalist, the Pakistani police arrested him in the B-17 area of Islamabad on the evening of Friday, June 23.
Meanwhile, a number of Pakistani journalists say that he was kidnapped by people in police uniform and the kidnappers demanded four hundred thousand rupees from this journalist’s family.
It should be mentioned that Tahir Sadid was a former reporter of Khurshid TV and One TV, and he fled to Pakistan with his family about a year ago. He has worked as a journalist in Afghanistan for the past two decades.
It should be noted that after the fall of Kabul to the hands of the Taliban, a large number of media activists and cultural figures of Afghanistan sought refugee in Pakistan.
It should be mentioned that a large part of the Afghanistani citizens who have fled to Pakistan are waiting for their asylum request to be accepted by the third country in order to leave Pakistan.
However, nearly two years have passed, these asylum seekers are in a state of misery, and in some cases, they have started sit-ins and protests, which have not been effective.
It should be mentioned that the Pakistani police has recently intensified the arrest of Afghanistani citizens and in some cases, they have conducted house-to-house searches.
This act of Pakistan has faced the reaction of international organizations, including Amnesty International, and this organization asked Pakistan to end this shameful act as soon as possible.
