RASC: With the start of the harvesting season of crops including wheat in the country, the Taliban group in Khost province has prohibited the use of machinery for harvesting and cleaning wheat.

A number of farmers in Khost province on Sunday, May 21, say that the Taliban group in the center and districts of this province told them that they do not have the right to use machinery to harvest wheat.

According to these farmers, this work of the Taliban group has made the process of collecting wheat from the fields long and time-consuming.

Farmers say that the prolonged process of wheat collection and recent hailstorms have damaged their crops.

The Taliban group has not yet said anything about the ban on harvesting wheat-using machinery.

Last year, the Taliban group also banned the harvesting of wheat with machines in a number of provinces, including Ghazni, Herat and Paktika.
