Eyewitnesses report that the fatal collision occurred on the evening of Saturday, July 26th, in the Chamtali area of Khogyani district. A Toyota Hilux, reportedly traveling at reckless speed, struck the two women as they were walking home from the market. The victims succumbed to their injuries on the spot, underscoring the devastating consequences of Taliban negligence.
Sayed Tayyeb Hamad, spokesperson for the Taliban police command in Nangarhar, confirmed the incident but minimized it as the result of “driver negligence” and “excessive speed.” The driver was promptly detained and referred to judicial authorities, yet history raises serious doubts about whether this case will receive a transparent and just investigation.
