RASC News Agency: Local sources in Kunduz report that a well-known businessman has been missing for more than 15 days, with no trace of his whereabouts. The missing individual, identified as Haji Sattar, vanished over two weeks ago under mysterious circumstances. According to sources, he was a prominent wheat trader based in Basus Township, Imam Sahib District. A source familiar with the case stated that Haji Sattar belonged to a well-established business family, with both his brother and uncle actively engaged in trade. The source emphasized that he had no known disputes or enmities with any individuals or groups, making his disappearance all the more puzzling.
Concerned family members have voiced deep anxiety over his uncertain fate. A close relative told RASC:
“Fifteen days ago, Haji Sattar left home in a white vehicle, heading to Jalalabad to collect 1.8 million Kabuli rupees from an associate. Since then, he has vanished without a trace. His mother and family are in distress, fearing the worst.” The same source disclosed that Haji Sattar had approximately 8 million Kabuli rupees in his bank account, raising suspicions that his disappearance may be linked to financial motives.
For over two weeks, the family has been unable to establish any contact with him, fueling speculation that he may have been abducted. Despite multiple appeals, the Taliban authorities have neither launched an investigation nor issued any official response regarding his disappearance. The rise in kidnappings and deteriorating security conditions across Afghanistan has deepened public fears, with abductions becoming alarmingly frequent. Just days ago, in Faizabad, a young girl named Asra, the granddaughter of General Nazir Mohammad, was rescued from an attempted kidnapping. Her captor a Taliban member was arrested and confessed to being part of a 12-member abduction ring.
In an even more gruesome case, a child in Badakhshan was found dead, his body horrifically mutilated, with his eyes, heart, and kidneys removed. Since the Taliban’s return to power, targeted killings, child abductions, and armed robberies have surged across Afghanistan, plunging the nation into an era of widespread fear and lawlessness.
