RASC News Agency: The National Resistance Front (NRF) has claimed responsibility for two separate attacks targeting Taliban forces in Kabul, reportedly killing two Taliban fighters and injuring two others. In a statement released on Sunday, March 9, the NRF announced that these operations were carried out two nights earlier in Kabul’s 15th district. According to the NRF, the first attack took place in the Panj Sad Family area, resulting in the death of a Taliban fighter. The second strike targeted a Taliban checkpoint in the Lab-e-Jar area, eliminating another insurgent. The Taliban have yet to comment on these claims.
The NRF had also asserted responsibility for an attack the previous night in Herat, where it claimed to have killed two additional Taliban fighters. Notably, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has verified 53 NRF-led assaults against Taliban positions over the past three months. Since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, the NRF has remained steadfast in its armed resistance against the group. Over the past two and a half years, the movement has sustained its struggle without external backing. Meanwhile, other ethnic groups, including Uzbeks and Hazaras, have largely acquiesced to Taliban rule, either aligning with their policies or maintaining silence.
In the end, it has been the Tajiks who have shouldered the weight of this resistance, waging war on two primary fronts the National Resistance Front and the Freedom Front. Despite a lack of external support or internal alliances, they have continued to defy the Taliban’s rule, standing as the last bastion of organized opposition in the country.
