For over three years, the Taliban have systematically erased, oppressed, and silenced half of Afghanistani society. Since reclaiming power, the Taliban have enforced some of the most extreme gender-based restrictions in modern history. They have shuttered schools and universities for female students, banned women from most public spaces and professions, and dismantled all avenues for their participation in society. Despite international condemnation, the Taliban have remained defiant, continuing their policies of exclusion and repression.
