RASC News Agency: Continuing the myriad restrictions imposed on reporters by the Taliban, Mohammad Hashem Shaheed Waror, the head of the Taliban’s Invitation and Guidance Department, recently commanded reporters to grow beards. Mohammad Hashem Shaheed Waror made these remarks on Tuesday, Feb 20, at a one-day reform and educational seminar organized by the Ministry of Education of the Taliban in Kabul for preachers.

He also considers media photography a major sin and has said, “We invite media representatives to grow beards and not waste their time taking pictures; photography is a major sin. We ask Allah to provide you with a halal livelihood.” This comes as the Taliban, during their two years of rule in Afghanistan, have imposed countless restrictions on the country’s citizens, especially journalists and media personnel.

It is worth mentioning that the imposed restrictions on reporters and media personnel have led to the departure of a large number of journalists from the country, who have migrated to neighboring countries.
