High Council of Resistance: Taliban Policies Have “Paralyzed” Afghanistanis Lives

RASC News Agency: In continued criticism of Afghanistan’s deteriorating state under Taliban rule, the High Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan has accused the Taliban of “paralyzing” the lives of citizens through relentless restrictions, pushing the country into unprecedented decline. The council, an anti-Taliban coalition, declared in its New Year’s message that in 2024, the Taliban’s increasing limitations have inflicted severe hardship on the people, describing this period as the darkest chapter in Afghanistan’s history.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the council labeled 2024 as a year rife with major global crises, spanning political, economic, and social spheres, and marked by catastrophic consequences for Afghanistan. According to the council, the Taliban’s policies in security, economic, social, and legal arenas have “paralyzed” Afghanistani society, leaving the population in a state of despair. The council highlighted that 2024 was particularly “harrowing and restrictive” for the Afghanistani people, with women and girls bearing the brunt of the Taliban’s oppressive measures.

It asserted that the Taliban have consistently acted in their own interests rather than for the welfare of the Afghanistani people. The council expressed optimism that 2025 would usher in collaborative international efforts to address Afghanistan’s deep-rooted political, economic, and social crises and restore justice to the nation. Previously, the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, led by Ahmad Massoud, labeled 2024 as the most challenging year for Afghanistanis living under Taliban oppression. In its statement, the Front pledged to liberate Afghanistan from Taliban rule and reaffirmed its commitment to the struggle for freedom and justice.
