RASC News Agency: Local sources in Nuristan province report that in a recent incident of criminal violence, unidentified gunmen shot and killed a woman while she was working on her farm. According to reports from Tuesday, August 13, the woman was murdered the previous day in the village of Chatras, located in Parun, the capital of Nuristan, by unknown assailants.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the perpetrators managed to escape the scene after the shooting. Taliban officials in Nuristan have yet to comment on the incident. Meanwhile, the incidence of criminal activity continues to rise across various provinces. In a related incident just a few days ago, unidentified gunmen opened fire on a shepherd in the Doab district of Nuristan. These reports surface amid the Taliban’s frequent claims of having ensured security across the country.
Many citizens believe that the Taliban have failed to provide adequate security, with some suggesting that Taliban forces themselves may be involved in criminal activities, including arbitrary arrests and even extrajudicial killings. In another recent security incident, an explosion in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of Kabul, for which ISIS claimed responsibility, resulted in over ten casualties.
