RASC News Agency: Local sources in Takhar province report that a 15-year-old female student from the Darul Uloom “Bish Batur” in Taloqan, the provincial capital, was abducted by an instructor at the institution. According to sources, the instructor, named Wajid, took the young girl on July 12 and transported her to an undisclosed location.

Both Wajid and the girl were detained by the Taliban on July 22. However, Wajid was released due to his brother’s prominent position within the Taliban. The girl’s identity remains unknown, and she is currently being held by the Taliban. Locals have been gathering at the Darul Uloom for several days, demanding justice and searching for Wajid, who has not returned to his place of work.

Local Taliban officials in Takhar have yet to comment on the incident. This event is part of a broader pattern of violent and arbitrary actions by Taliban members and their associates against Afghanistani citizens. In a recent incident, Taliban members in Bamyan province forcibly detained a young woman for allegedly not wearing a hijab. Tragically, after her release, she took her own life.
