RASC News Agency:Local sources from Pashtun Kot District in Faryab Province report the murder of a former military officer in his home. These sources state that the former officer, named Ghulam Sakhi, had recently returned from Iran. According to the source, he served in the police force and local militia under the previous government. The source clarified that Ghulam Sakhi was shot dead by four armed men in his home in Chaqmaq village on the night of Tuesday, July 2.

While the identity of the assailants remains unclear, Ghulam Sakhi’s family accuses Rahmatullah Noorani, the head of the Taliban’s second security district in Maimana, of orchestrating the murder. The source added that Ghulam Sakhi intended to marry the former wife of Rahmatullah Noorani, who had previously warned him against such a union. Taliban officials in Faryab Province have yet to comment on the incident.

It is noteworthy that former military personnel have previously been killed under mysterious circumstances. While the Taliban are often blamed for these murders, the group maintains that it adheres to its leader’s amnesty decree. Reports of the killing of former military personnel emerge weekly. Many believe that these murders are carried out by Taliban members due to previous hostilities, religious differences, or ethnic tensions.

Last week, sources reported the mysterious death of an individual in Helmand Province. A source indicated that the person was killed by Taliban members. Such incidents have occurred frequently, with public accusations pointing towards the Taliban. People allege that these murders are either supported by the Taliban or directly carried out by its members.
