RASC News Agency: Local Taliban officials in Nangarhar province report a tragic boat capsize in the region. Quraishi Badlon, head of Information and Culture for the Taliban in Nangarhar, stated that the incident occurred early Saturday morning, June 1, in the Bili area of the Mohmand Dara district.

According to Badlon, resulted in at least 20 fatalities, including women and children, with five individuals rescued. He added that the bodies of five victims have been recovered from the water, but the other victims, presumed dead, have yet to be found.

Badlon noted that search operations for the bodies are ongoing along the river. Local sources previously informed the media that 36 people, including women and children, were on the generator-powered boat.

Similar incidents have occurred in this province before; nearly two years ago, a comparable struck the same district, resulting in multiple drownings.
