RASC News Agency: In three separate incidents in Herat province, at least 24 people have been killed or injured. Local sources from Herat province in western Afghanistan report that the first incident, a traffic accident in Karkh district, resulted in at least four deaths and 14 injuries.VA local source in Herat, speaking on condition of anonymity, told RASC News Agency on Saturday, May 18, that the incident occurred due to a collision between a bus and a motorcycle.
According to the source, excessive speed by both parties was reported as the primary cause of the accident. Additionally, another source in Herat told RASC News Agency that in the second incident on Turghundi Street, four motorcyclists were injured.VThe source stated that most of these incidents occur on Fridays in the city and districts of Herat province.
Meanwhile, a doctor in Herat, who wished to remain unnamed, told RASC News Agency that six people were injured in a traffic accident in the Bagh-e-Milat area of the province. He added that the main cause of traffic accidents is speeding, which leads to fatalities and injuries.
Furthermore, officials at the regional hospital in Herat province, while confirming the news, said that the collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Karkh district resulted in four deaths and 14 injuries. Dr. Ahmad Faheem Afzali, head of the emergency department at Herat Regional Hospital, stated that the victims of the accident had been transferred to this medical facility.
Additionally, several residents of Herat province in western Afghanistan have urged Taliban officials through multiple messages to implement comprehensive measures to prevent traffic accidents and reduce the human toll. It is noteworthy that Herat is one of the major cities in Afghanistan and frequently witnesses such incidents.
Recently, the deputy governor of Herat province under the Taliban, in an audio message addressed to the youth of the province, reminded them not to drive at high speeds within the city and districts of Herat.
