RASC News Agency: While the Taliban have shut the doors of schools and universities on Afghanistani girls, they continue to welcome and engage with foreign women, allowing them to travel freely across Afghanistan. At the same time, the group has banned Afghanistani women from working in governmental and non-governmental institutions and has even prohibited the broadcast of their voices on Kandahar’s media outlets. However, newly surfaced images reveal Taliban fighters socializing with foreign female tourists, laughing, and escorting them on trips to various regions often while visibly armed.
In the latest instance, two photographs circulating online show Taliban members engaging in games with foreign women. In one image, an American woman is seen participating in an arm-wrestling contest among Taliban fighters, while a young boy watches. Meanwhile, a group of Taliban militants cheers, records videos, and encourages the scene with excitement. It is reported that these images were taken in Ghazni province during January. The photos depict Taliban members visibly joyful, laughing, and enjoying the company of the foreign woman. This is not the first such instance previously, Chinese tourists were also photographed posing with Taliban fighters, holding their weapons as souvenirs. However, the release of these new images comes as the Taliban continue their ban on education for Afghanistani women and girls.
Notably, American adult film actress Whitney Wright recently posted images of her trip to Afghanistan, posing with Taliban fighters and handling their weapons. Many Afghanistani citizens have reacted with outrage to these images, pointing out the Taliban’s hypocrisy oppressing Afghanistani women while laughing and celebrating with foreign women. As these foreign visitors tour Afghanistan and take photos with the Taliban, Afghanistani women have been deprived of their most fundamental rights for the past three years. This blatant double standard has further fueled the anger and frustration of the Afghanistani people.
