RASC News Agency: Sources in Kandahar report that unidentified individuals have beheaded a young man in the Shah Wali Kot district of Kandahar province. The victim, a 24-year-old resident of “Wali” village in Shah Wali Kot, was ambushed and brutally murdered. Details regarding his identity remain undisclosed.
According to sources, the young man was returning from watering his garden late Sunday night, August 18th, when he was attacked and beheaded by “unknown individuals.” The local Taliban police in Kandahar have confirmed the incident, attributing the murder to a personal vendetta. The Taliban authorities have stated that they have initiated an investigation and will provide further information in due course. This heinous act is part of a disturbing trend of mysterious killings and the discovery of bodies, which are reported daily from various provinces.
Kandahar has become the de facto center of Taliban power, with the group’s leader residing there and the Kabul government being controlled from this province. Despite the presence of thousands of Taliban forces supposedly maintaining security, such gruesome murders continue to occur. The Taliban consider Kandahar to be the safest province in Afghanistan due to the presence of their leader and extensive security forces. However, even in this so-called secure province, beheadings and killings persist.
Locals claim that Taliban members are often involved in these mysterious murders, either directly committing them or being complicit in some way. The Taliban’s treatment of the people is marked by arrogance and brutality, as they frequently resort to violence without hesitation. The Taliban remain unaccountable to the public for these covert and mysterious killings.
Despite this, the Taliban continue to assert that comprehensive security has been established across Afghanistan. Yet, reports of death, suicide, and both hidden and overt murders surface daily from all corners of the country.
